This GPS module is built around the u-blox NEO-7M. The NEO-7 series of standalone GNSS modules uses the u-blox 7 engine (GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and SBAS) and delivers high sensitivity with short acquisition times.
The module has an onboard ceramic antenna plus an SMA connector for an external antenna, a rechargeable backup battery, a TTL serial interface and a micro USB port, so you can connect it to a PC without a USB-TTL adapter. Parameters can be set over the serial port and saved in EEPROM, and it works with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic. When you use an external antenna, remove capacitor C2 to avoid interference. Sample code and u-blox evaluation software (u-center) are available.
