Description: A music-to-light modulator is a circuit which controls the intensity of one or more lights in response to an audio input. The kit is ideal to give the lights rhythm to any party or disco without much money. Very safe operation as it uses an opto-coupler as a coupling device between the audio and the mains controlling stages of the circuit. This is the assembled version of our CPS12.
Input trigger voltage: 2.3 - 2.5V (min) at least 1.2V RMS and a current of 5mA*
Operating voltage: 110 or 250 VAC
Power handling: 220W @ 110V or 500W @ 250V
PCB size: 2.16" x 1.63" (To help in the decision to select an enclosure keep in mind that the heat sink used in the kit is about 1" tall.)
PLEASE NOTE: THIS MODULE IS ASSEMBLED IN A SUITABLE PLASTIC ENCLOSURE. HOWEVER THIS PRODUCT DRIVES MAINS VOLTAGE LIGHT BULBS. MAINS VOLTAGE CAN KILL YOU. BE CAREFUL!
*It should be driven from the speaker output of a power amplifier. The output from the headphone jack of a phone is usually not enough.
NOTE: Please allow 24 hours for assembly!
