Triple Axis Accelerometer Breakout - ADXL345

Description: This new version adds 2 standoff holes as well as an extra decoupling capacitor. The ADXL345 is a small, thin, low power, 3-axis accelerometer with high resolution (13-bit) measurement at up to ±16 g. Digital output data is formatted as 16-bit twos complement and is accessible through either a SPI (3- or 4-wire) or I2C digital interface.
The ADXL345 is well suited to measures the static acceleration of gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock. Its high resolution (4 mg/LSB) enables measurement of inclination changes less than 1.0°.

Several special sensing functions are provided. Activity and inactivity sensing detect the presence or lack of motion and if the acceleration on any axis exceeds a user-set level. Tap sensing detects single and double taps. Free-fall sensing detects if the device is falling. These functions can be mapped to one of two interrupt output pins. An integrated, patent pending 32-level first in, first out (FIFO) buffer can be used to store data to minimize host processor intervention. Low power modes enable intelligent motion-based power management with threshold sensing and active acceleration measurement at extremely low power dissipation.

Triple-Axis Digital-Output Gyro ITG-3200 Breakout

Description:This is a breakout board for InvenSense's ITG-3200, a groundbreaking triple-axis, digital output gyroscope. The ITG-3200 features three 16-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) for digitizing the gyro outputs, a user-selectable internal low-pass filter bandwidth, and a Fast-Mode I2C (400kHz) interface. Additional features include an embedded temperature sensor and a 2% accurate internal oscillator.
The ITG-3200 can be powered at anywhere between 2.1 and 3.6V. For power supply flexibility, the ITG-3200 has a separate VLOGIC reference pin (labeled VIO), in addition to its analog supply pin (VDD) which sets the logic levels of its serial interface. The VLOGIC voltage may be anywhere from 1.71V min to VDD max. For general use, VLOGIC can be tied to VCC. The normal operating current of the sensor is just 6.5mA.

Communication with the ITG-3200 is achieved over a two-wire (I2C) interface. The sensor also features a interrupt output, and an optional clock input. A jumper on the top of the board allows you to easily select the I2C address, by pulling the AD0 pin to either VCC or GND; the board is shipped with this jumper tied to VCC. If you don't plan on using the CLKIN pin, you can short the jumper on the bottom of the board to tie it to GND.

This breakout board is shipped as shown in the images. Note that there are two unpopulated resistors on the I2C lines, these can be added later by the customer if desired.

Barometric Pressure Sensor - BMP085 Breakout

Description: This is a simple breakout board for the BMP085 high-precision, low-power barometric pressure sensor. Humidity Sensor - HIH-4030 Breakout

Description: This is a breakout board for Honeywell's HIH-4030 humidity sensor. The HIH-4030 measures relative humidity (%RH) and delivers it as an analog output voltage. You can connect the output of the sensor directly to an ADC on a microcontroller; and, thanks to the sensor's near linear voltage output, the data is very easy to process.

LilyPad Accelerometer ADXL335

Description: This is a three axis accelerometer for the LilyPad system. Based on the ADXL335 accelerometer from Analog Devices, the LilyPad Accelerometer can detect joint movement as well as inclination and vibration.

The ADXL335 outputs a 0V to 3V analog signal on each of the X, Y, and Z axis. You will need to convert this analog voltage to a gravity amount and use trigonometry to calculate a true 'angle'. If you are not looking for tilt, it is very easy to use this sensor for basic motion sensing.

0-10V to 4-20mA Converter

Description: Our multi-purpose KTx-254 thermocouple amplifier board has been designed to allow the user to connect a 0-2VDC or 0-10VDC signal to the input and output a 4-20mA signal or alternatively input a 0-2.5VDC or 0-12.5VDC signal and output a 0-20mA signal. A DIN rail mount is also available to allow for easy mounting to DIN rail.

Circuit:
The card is fitted with a AD694 which will convert the 0-2VDC or 0-10VDC signal to a 4-20mA signal or a 0-2.5VDC or 0-12.5VDC signal to a 0-20mA signal. Link J1 on the board allows you to select whether you are using a 0-2VDC or 0-2.5VDC signal (Link Closed) or 0-10VDC or 0-12.5VDC signal (Link open). Link J2 on the board allows you to select whether you are outputting 0-20mA or 4-20mA.

Light sensor (as used on USB6M)

Description: This is a simple to use light sensor that essentially is an LDR (light dependent resistor) in an enclosure. It has 1.5m ohms resistance in the dark and about .5k ohms in light. This is the same sensor used on our USB6M sound recorder and it's great for any project that needs a little "discrepancy" added to the light sensor because the enclosure really helps keep out unwanted light.

Force Sensitive Resistor 0.5" (Out of Stock)

Description: This is a force sensitive resistor with a round, 0.5" diameter, sensing area. This FSR will vary its resistance depending on how much pressure is being applied to the sensing area. The harder the force, the lower the resistance. When no pressure is being applied to the FSR its resistance will be larger than 1MΩ. This FSR can sense applied force anywhere in the range of 100g-10kg.

Two pins extend from the bottom of the sensor with 0.1" pitch making it bread board friendly. There is a peel-and-stick rubber backing on the other side of the sensing area to mount the FSR.

These sensors are simple to set up and great for sensing pressure, but they aren't incredibly accurate. Use them to sense if it's being squeezed, but you may not want to use it as a scale.
