Easy Microcontrol n (ver 4.1)

"Easy Microcontrol'n" © is intended to ease the beginner toward understanding and application of the PIC ® line of microcontrollers from Microchip Technology, Inc. Examples of assembly language programs range from a simple one to turn on LED's to more complex ones for timing and for event-counting. Writing programs is covered in-depth and the use of flow charts, as an aid to visualizing what a program does, is emphasized. The approach is hands-on with many examples, all of which may be demonstrated using a very simple demo board (a project) in the beginning of the book. firmware k148 (T2) - Stopwatch with Pause

Another in the series of timer kits based on the K148 hardware platform. This is a classic stopwatch timer with a pause feature as well. Timing is in hours, minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second up to a maximum of ‘99:59:59.99’. An output signal which pulses low every minute is also available. Please note this item requires the CPS148 to work. This is only the firmware chip for CPS148.

Touch/Contact Switch

Both types of switches are built onto the one PCB so you can see and explore how each type works. A battery can power the touch switch (2 contacts) but a power supply (like CPS4) must be used for the touch plate (1 terminal) to work. High quality 12V relay rated at switching 240V/3A supplied. Uses 14011 IC. (CPS10)

Stereo Preamplifier - Tone Control Unit

This is a preamplifier and tone control unit
which will make a useful addition to any
of our power amplifier kits. It is extremely
easy to construct due to the use of a special IC,
the Philips TDA 1524A. This contains all the
circuitry required to provide up to 20 dB of
voltage gain, +/-15 dB of bass and treble
control, channel balance, and a switchable
loudness contour.
Specification
D.C. Input : 15V DC supply or 12V DC battery. 50 mA min.
Maximum output : > 3 V RMS
Maximum input : > 300 mV, G = 20 dB
> 3V RMS, G = 0dB. Input Z > 10 k ohm. Output Z < 300 ohm

Servo Motor Driver using PIC16C71 1-4

Using a PIC 16C71, a crystal, 8 resistors & 4 capacitors this kit will independently control up to 4 servo motors. We do not supply the potentiometers or servo motors. (a Futaba FP-S148 was used in the tests.) 5V DC power supply required. Full instructions provided.
Servo motors are used in radio-controlled models (cars, planes), robotics, theme park special effects, test equipment, industrial automation. At the hobbyist end of the market they are small, compact and relatively inexpensive at around US$20. The motors themselves are black boxes which contain a motor, gearbox and decoder electronics. Three wires go into the box; 5V, ground and signal. A short shaft comes out of the motor which usually has a circular interface plate attached to it. Most servos will rotate through about 100 degrees in less than a second according to the signal input. This kit will control up to 4 servo motors simultaneously. (CPS102)
