easy to construct due to the use of a special IC,
the Philips TDA 1524A. This contains all the
circuitry required to provide up to 20 dB of
voltage gain, +/-15 dB of bass and treble
control, channel balance, and a switchable
loudness contour.

50W amplifier module TDA7294

The heart of this amplifier module is a monolithic integrated circuit from SGS-Thomson, TDA7294. It is intended for use as an audio class AB amplifier in hi-fi applications. It has a wide voltage range and output current capability, enabling it to supply the highest power into both 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm loads. With the addition of a handful of parts and a suitable power supply, this module will deliver > 50W RMS into 8 Ohm @ 0.1% THD. HEATSINK NOT INCLUDED. User must supply a heatsink rated at 1.4 deg C/W.

Specifications (± 35V D.C. power supply)
Output power : > 50W RMS, 4-8 Ω load
~ 80W into 4Ω max.
~ 60W into 8Ω max.
Gain: 24 dB (30dB modification)
Input sensitivity : 1.3V for 50W, 8 ohm
0.9V for 50W, 4 ohm
(0.6V, 50W, 8Ω, G=30dB)
Input impedance : 10kΩ
Signal-to-Noise ratio : > 95 dB, (>105 dBA)
Frequency response : ~ 20Hz - 200kHz, –3 dB
Slew rate : > 10V/uS
THD : < 0.01%, 1W-40W,1kHz

Introduction to Class AB Amplifiers

Using amplifier modules is modern, quick and easy but it teaches nothing about how they work. Here is a Class AB amplifier made from individual components which will deliver several watts of power into an ordinary 8 ohm speaker. Gives hands-on learning about cross-over distortion, bootstrapping, complementary pairs, and push-pull. Detailed explanations given. Terminal strips are used for inputs and outputs. Use two 9 volt batteries. PCB Size: 2in (L) X 1.5in (W) (CPS48)

1W Stereo Amplifier Module DC Volume con

This is a 1 watt stereo amplifier module Kit
using the TDA 7053A from Philips. It uses
a DC voltage to control gain, hence a
single gang pot or switch can be used as a
volume control with minimal tracking error. It
will operate from 4.5 – 18 V DC and requires
no heat-sink for normal use.
