The DS1820 Digital Thermometer provides 9–bit temperature readings which indicate the temperature of the device. Information is sent to/from the DS1820 over a 1–Wire interface, so that only one wire (and ground) needs to be connected from a central microprocessor to a DS1820. Power for reading, writing, and performing temperature conversions can be derived from the data line itself with no need for an external power source. Because each DS1820 contains a unique silicon serial number, multiple DS1820s can exist on the same 1–Wire bus. This allows for placing temperature sensors in many different places. Applications

Description: The KTA-224 is a Modbus Slave IO module for interfacing to any PLC or PC using the Modbus protocol. It behaves as a Modbus Slave and Relays, Inputs and Outputs are controlled by writing to and reading from the Coils and Holding Registers. It can be used for many applications such as controlling lights and sprinkler systems, reading sensors and monitoring switches and other digital signals, or even for industrial control.

The module can connect to a standard RS485 2-wire half duplex network or to a computer via USB. When connected via USB, the module acts as a USB to RS485 converter and multiple IO units (or other Modbus devices) can be connected to the RS485 bus. You simply write ascii commands through the PC's serial port to the card to control each of the stepper motors. A free PC program (source code in VB is included) is provided so that you can execute a number of commands and repeat the process

Examples of the commands are:

Dual Bidirectional DC Motor Speed Controller

Description: This Motor Speed Controller allows a user to control the speed of up to two DC Motors independently, using an analog 0-5V signal, potentiometers, serial port of a PC or 1-2mS RC Pulse.

Modes of Operation: The BB250 (KTA-198) can be operated in serial, analog or pulse mode. In analog and pulse modes each motor can be operated in unidirectional mode with the 0-5V analog input (or 1-2mS pulse) giving 0-100% PWM and a digital input for direction selection, or in bidirectional mode where the analog or pulse input is responsible for both direction and speed selection. In bidirectional mode 2.5V (or 1.5mS pulse) will give 0% PWM duty, increasing voltage from 2.5V to 5V (or pulses from 1.5 to 2mS) will increase the PWM duty from 0-100% and turn the motor in one direction. Decreasing the voltage from 2.5V to 0V (or pulses from 1.5 to 1mS) will increase the PWM duty from 0-100% and turn the motor in the other direction.

The PWM frequency can be set by a serially command to 10KHz, 1.25KHz and 156Hz. 

The maximum voltage available to run the motor is 50VDC.Current: The IRFZ44 MOSFET can handle 49A; the IRF4905 can handle 74A. However the PCB tracks that run from the MOSFET pins to the screw terminal block can only handle around 10A. When running the motor check the temperature of the MOSFETs to see if heatsinks are required.

The Ocean Controls RC Servo Motor Controller will control up to 8 servo motors. 4 of the servo motors are controlled by ASCII RS232 serial commands. This can be increased to 8 by the configuration  command WRCF.
The form of the serial command is @xx WRSP yyy where xx is the address of the motor and yyy is the position which can vary between 0 and 200.

The other 4 servo motors are controlled by the position of a switch. A switch is connected between the Lx and COM inputs. The user then writes a series of commands to the controller to tell what positions the motor is to move to when the switch is in the OPEN and CLOSED states. The user can also set the rate of movement between the OPEN and CLOSED positions. These variables are automatically saved in EEPROM so that they will not be lost on loss of power.

The KTA-223 is a USB or RS485 controlled IO module for interfacing PCs to real world applications, such as controlling lights and sprinkler systems, reading sensors and monitoring switches and other digital signals. The Relays are capable of switching up to 5A at 250VAC, 10A at 120VAC and 10A at 24VDC but the PCB tracks will only handle up to about 5A. A simple ASCII protocol allows control from Windows/Mac/Linux using either USB Virtual COM drivers or RS485. Additionally, multiple devices can be connected to one RS485 bus, allowing control of many devices from one USB port. 

The controller is based on the hardware of the Arduino physical computing controllers. It can be programmed as a stand-alone controller using the free, open source Arduino environment. Internally, the controller is “shield compatible”, allowing the use of many extension boards designed for the Arduino Deumilanove. As shipped the controller is loaded with a sketch that receives simple commands over the USB or RS485 serial port and switches relays or responds with the status of inputs. 

Multiple controllers can be connected to one or more PCs in an RS485 network. Each controller can be assigned an address and will respond to commands addressed to them.
